23rd August.SaturdayI woke up at around 1pm in the afternoon. Had cereal with milk. (Yes i know that it's more of a breakfast food.) Caught the episode of the tv drama i missed last night on the repeat channel of scv, and my BOOKS from arrived finally.! They were airflown okay, all the way from UK.I was so excited.. Like a primary one kid who gingerly cut the top of the plastic package which revealed a water/tearproof kind of envelope which contains my study guide. I tore the openings of it and, there it is! Haha. I flipped through the study guide and read abit, before its time for me to get ready to head out to Tianxi's place for his birthday celebration. I'm kinda eager to receive my study guides because i always hear my friends from other universities like Deakin, ACCA, SMU saying that they have readings to read, while I thought to myself, I dont seem to have anything to read. (reminder to self: I'm only doing one module now! the rest of the modules have yet to start !! ) Ah anyways, i'm quite puzzled cos they only sent me two study guides out of the four modules i'm taking this year. So what happens to the remaining two ?? Karen says she also received two modules. Anyway, the whole day its either pouring or drizzling. Made Singapore felt like she turned on the air con for the entire nation. Met bel at Tiong bahru and headed to TX's place in a cab. Yummy food next. Told ya, I'm such a glutton man.. After eating, he opened the mj table and his place turned into a mini gambling den, but without money involved that is. Mj, dai dee, chinese and english chess, tv, internet, PS3 ... haha, Obviously, i'm with the MJ! James and Malcolm came along at almost 10 cos of late bookout. We (James, Malcolm, Annabel and I) left his place at about 1135 and headed to Chomp chomp. So coincidentally, Kelvin's meeting ed and the rest at chompchomp for supper too.. So the united met the united(s). haha! After our desserts, we went home. I dropped Malcolm and myself home with James' car as he slept.
Halfway through our desserts just now at chomp chomp, a sudden wave of emotions ran through me. I miss those days when we would hang out freely as and when we wanted.
It could really be the simplest things we do like sitting at the void deck drinking iced Lemon Tea from the market at Bukit Merah View, renting DVDs and going to someone's place to watch, watching football matches together, having the favourite Yong Tau foo supper, cooking pasta at 1am in the morning ..
Initially I wasn't really into soccer, but James is a Man U fan and when there's a man u match, he'll come over to my place with Annabel to watch it during last season's BPL. I remember once last year, you all came over for a match but i'm in my room studying for a major exam. Ha! I know I used to "hide" in the room doing my things while you all are watching the match and probably Annabel just come along to watch until one day, he said that he's always watching alone even though he's here. - sorry about that! - So from then on, i started to sit outside to watch the match together with them. To a point that i somehow became a united "fan"..
With that, I got to know that my dad and maid is a man u fan. yes, the maid. Once, they came over to watch a man u match and all present in the hall who are united fans (James, my dad, me, maid, annabel - who supports man u when they are not playing against arsenal right ?! CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG! HAHAHA!) were like 'screaming' during the match.. Interesting scene to behold huh? Somehow i always remember this.
It's with you guys that doing crazy things seem normal at that point of time. Who would travel all the way from the west to the east just to chill out of Terminal 3's coffee club in the wee hours (at least after 12 am cos of parking fees!) when there's the 24/7 coffee club in town? Or some other chill-out places that are opened till late. Mind you, we have people staying in the west, central and south.. and for a short period of time, that was our fav hangout until prawning took over.
The first time we prawned, we felt so elated when we felt the first bite.. It became a weekly routine for about a month plus, until I went on a holiday trip with my family to Taiwan the week before James' enlistment and he had to report to camp the very next day i touched down in Singapore.
There's just so much that i wanted to say to you guys that i actually typed a post specially for it.Some of what i wanted to say is actually posted here.
Read it later ok? I have yet to decide if i wanna post it here or somewhere else but I promise, it's going to be very long. lol.
and, ANNABEL LIM JIN XIA if you read this, FASTER GO AND COME BACK FROM CHINA OKAY! ( okay, okay, i know you haven't even leave for china. lol. )
